To say last season was an eventful one for the versatile Bimbaite would be one of the understatements of the year. She returned to Lithuania in the summer of 2010 after just one season in Russia to spearhead and lend experience to VICI Aistes Kaunas in EuroLeague Women and did a superb job. She established herself as a real leader as expected and also played her usual impressive defence, but crucially she also stepped up her offensive production too. She had an outstanding start to the season, helping fire Kaunas to an upset win over four-time champions Spartak on the opening day of the regular season. Across seven games, she was one of the best scorers in the competition, averaging 15.7 points and 5.1 rebounds as well as 3.1 assists per game. She got hurt in her team's sensational home win over Final Four participants Halcon Avenida in early December, but returned to action in February to be crowned a EuroLeague Women All Star selection a month later. Five years ago, Bimbaite was an influential figure at the FIBA World Championship Women for Lithuania but then missed EuroBasket Women 2007 and was not at her best in 2009. Perhaps in 2011 she will shine once again, looking re-energised even taking into account the injury problems. She is a valuable player and will be one of the key figures for Coach Paulauskas. Her ability to come up with crucial steals on a regular basis and make some big shots from downtown will be vital.
