Inna Kochubei had a strong qualification round campaign for the national team in 2008, playing a huge role in the team's success as the starting point guard and the team captain. Her performance earned her an invitation to play for AEL Cyprus, but an unfortunate injury sidelined her for more than two months. Kochubei returned to Ukraine, where she nursed her ankle and rejoined the national team for the additional qualifying round. Unfortunately Inna never managed to regain her shape and confidence, playing just two out of team's four games. Kochubei returned to Tim-Scuf for the remainder of the season, helping her team get the Cup of Ukraine Silver and National Championship Silver.
