Israel took over sole possession of first place in EuroBasket Women qualifying Group A with a 74-59 triumph over winless Germany on Tuesday - their fifth win in six games.

Eli Rabi's team rolled to an easy triumph in Ramat Gan with Shay Doron pouring in a game-high 25 points.

The Israelis extended a 15-12 lead at the end of the first quarter to 35-25 by half-time and then blew out the Germans over the next 10 minutes, outscoring them 28-14.

Germany, who played at last year's EuroBasket in Italy but lost their first four qualifying games, haven't been playing with some key members of that team like Linda Frohlich and Martina Weber.

They put the Israelis on the line a lot and Doron and Co punished them by making 24 of 29 (82.8%).

Doron was an excellent 12 of 13 (92.3%) at the line.

Liron Cohen had 13 points, Laine Selwyn 12 and Liad Suez Karni 11 for the Israelis, while Germany got a team-high 14 from Katja Bavendam.
