Turkey went into the warm-ups for EuroBasket Women 2009 thinking they could climb to the European podium for the first time, but a rash of injuries before the tournament robbed head coach Ceyhun Yildizoglu of a number of key players.

Still, a young Turkey team came within a victory in either of their last two games of reaching the Quarter-Finals in Riga. Instead, the Turks left Latvia finishing outside of the quarters for the second straight tournament.

Belarus completed their return from the dead to not only advance to the 2009 EuroBasket Women Quarter-Finals but finish in third place of their Qualification Round Group F with an 86-70 victory over Turkey.

Four players scored in double figures for the 2007 bronze medalists Belarus, who hit 46 percent from three-point range and out-rebounded Turkey 42-28.

A spot in the Quarter-Finals of the 2009 EuroBasket Women is up for grabs as the 2007 bronze medalists Belarus face off against Turkey in the Qualification Round Group F.

Ceyhun Yildizoglu's Turks currently sit in third place with a 2-2 mark in the group while Belarus are 1-3.
